In the "Blacksmithing I" class students will be taken step by step through select fundametals of metalsmithing.  This class is split into (3) three hour long sessions plus lab.  We teach each student how to forge various small projects and elements then take those skills to fabricate the final project.

The goal of our "Blacksmithing I" class is to get you familiar with the materials and tools in a blacksmiths shop and help you develop your skills so you can build personal projects. This class is for everyone interested in working with metal; as well as artists and craftsmen that have never picked up a hammer to those that know their way around a shop but want to hone their hand forging skills.  Some of the foundation skills that can be covered are tapering, cutting, punching, slitting, splitting, twisting, shaping, upsetting, riveting, and (forge) welding.

The open lab is for registered students on Sundays after class and runs from 9-until...This will give students the opportunity to work on any unfinished projects as well as their own projects.
